Yang Claire Zeng

Claire is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Technology Officer of DoriNano. She has extensive research experience in stem cell biology, biomaterial engineering, cancer immunotherapy, and nanotechnology. Her clinical medicine background and clinical trial experience have driven her research toward developing effective therapies for patients. She pioneered the integration of cancer immunotherapy with DNA origami nano delivery technology and published several major papers in high-profile journals such as Nature Nanotechnology demonstrating the significance of these projects. Claire participated in several entrepreneurship training programs, including Nucleate, Wyss Blueprint, and MassBio Drive, which empowered her with a strong business mindset for bench-to-bedside translation. She founded DoriNano in 2023 and has led the company to win several BioVenture competitions, including first place in the Alnylam BioVenture competition, Runner-up in the Harvard Business School New Venture competition, finalist in the Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge, and third place in the Boston Chinese Investment Club.

Previously, Claire was an Instructor and Senior Scientist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Wyss Institute, and Harvard Medical School. In this role, she transformed a nanotechnology concept into an effective treatment and established a therapeutic platform in Dr. William Shih’s lab. She led a team of postdocs, Ph.D. students, and technicians on multiple projects with a unified direction. Claire has extensive experience in securing academic funding and guiding trainees to achieve their research goals. Claire received her M.D. in Clinical Medicine from Xi’an Jiaotong University and her Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Peking Union Medical College and Tsinghua University. She completed her post-doctoral work at Tsinghua University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Claire has over 30 publications with nearly 2000 citations and is the inventor of DoriNano’s leading technologies.
