Dr. William Shih is co-Founder and Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board for DoriNano. He led the development of multilayer 3D origami that underpins the technological base of the DoriVac vaccine particle. William is a Professor in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School and the Department of Cancer Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and a Founding Core Faculty member at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard.
He studied Biochemical Sciences at Harvard for his A.B. and Biochemistry at Stanford for his Ph.D. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at The Scripps Research Institute and has since been back at Harvard as a faculty member. He was a 2008 NIH Director’s New Innovator Awardee, a 2013 Blavatnik National Award Finalist in the Physical Sciences, the 2017 Foresight Prize Awardee in Experimental Nanotechnology, and the 2018 Rozenberg Tulip Awardee in DNA Computing.
