Jessica Baker Flechtner is Co-Founder, Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Operating Officer for DoriNano. She is widely recognized as a pioneer in the development of novel vaccines and cell therapies and has more than 20 years of experience in immunology, cancer, and infectious disease. Jessica has recently been serving as a Fractional Executive, strategist and advisor for multiple small companies, with responsibilities ranging from strategy and fundraising to scientific leadership and mentorship for first-time founders.
Previously, Jessica was CSO of Genocea Biosciences, a vaccine and T cell therapy company. At Genocea, she shepherded the organization from a seed-backed startup to a publicly traded biotechnology company. Under her leadership, multiple infectious disease vaccine candidates, a personalized cancer vaccine candidate, and a personalized T cell therapy for treatment of solid tumors progressed through clinical trials. She also played key roles in securing capital, setting strategy, and enabling organizational change.
In prior roles, Jess developed vaccines and immunotherapies for cancer, infectious disease, autoimmunity and allergy in several small companies. She performed her post-doctoral work at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School and holds BS and PhD degrees from Cornell University. She is an inventor on dozens of pending and issued patents and has over 25 peer-reviewed publications. Her honors include being featured in the 2020 book Wall of Wonder: Cornell Women Leading the Way in Science, Technology, and Engineeringand the 2021 Healthcare Technology Report Top 25 Women Leaders in Biotechnology.
