Dr. George Church serves as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for DoriNano. He is a Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School, and Professor of Health Sciences and Technology at Harvard and MIT. He is a founding Core Faculty Member of the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University and a member of NAS & NAE.
A visionary in genomics and synthetic biology, Dr. Church has played a foundational role in developing next-generation sequencing technologies and genome editing tools. He also pioneered the Personal Genome Project, advancing open-access human genomic data to accelerate biomedical innovation. Dr. Church has founded and advised over 50 companies, helping translate cutting-edge science into transformative platforms across precision medicine, biomanufacturing, and regenerative therapies. His entrepreneurial efforts have driven progress in areas such as genome engineering, scalable DNA synthesis, and synthetic biology.
At DoriNano, Dr. Church’s expertise in DNA nanotechnology and molecular design is instrumental in advancing our DNA origami-based therapeutic platform. His guidance supports our mission to enable precise, programmable delivery of next-generation therapeutics.
Dr. Church earned his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1984, where he developed the first method for direct genomic sequencing. His prolific work includes over 700 publications and 150 patents, forming the backbone of many modern advancements in genome science.
